What to do by bike in the Nerja area
1. Walk between the coast and fruit trees.
From the center of Nerja and walking through its streets, you can reach the Verano Azul Park and follow its cycle lane to the seaside path of the El Playazo beach. After about three kilometres of a pleasant walk by the sea, you can enter the agricultural roads of Nerja crossing from the coast to the Rio Seco, to take a right turn back to the centre through avocado and lemon groves.
2. Get to know Maro and the Nerja Caves
Maro is located just 4 kilometres from Nerja and is an ideal place to enjoy its quiet streets and sea views. In addition, we will be able to reach it through a bike path.
Once there, we go up to Las Cuevas de Nerja and we can enjoy its surroundings in the middle of nature, if we don't want to go in or if we already know them.
3. Nerja and its coast
One of the characteristics that make Nerja a special place is its rugged coastline and cliffs. Travelling along the coast towards the eastern side of Granada will delight you with breathtaking views. The route is mostly along the N-340 road, which is a quiet and pleasant road, especially in spring and autumn.
Reach up to Cerro Gordo Viewpoint, this could be a fantastic end to this route.
4. Sierra Almijara, in the heart of the Natural Park.
The nearby mountains offer an infinite number of cycling routes of varying levels of difficulty. A nearby route from Nerja starts at Las Cuevas de Nerja and runs for six kilometres of beauty and tranquillity along an accessible path to the recreational area of El Pinarillo, and La Fuente del Esparto.
